Soccer For Souls

In Africa, 72% of young people are under the age of 25 and this population segment remains the largest underutilised resource on the continent. While many countries in Africa are aspiring to elevate their status to middle income growth economies, large sections of rural and remote populations are still struggling with fragile economic systems where young people are succumbing to social ills, such as drugs, prostitution, and even human trafficking to survive. Soccer for souls is an evangelism initiative to the high-density, peri-urban areas of Harare. Although young people may struggle to approach the doors of the church building, they can be engaged through sport. Young people are gathered weekly to play friendly soccer games and hear the gospel. Through our relationships we offer support and counselling services.
